The school seeks to maximise individual potential by providing rich and engaging educational experiences and challenges, supported by talented and trained staff, in a safe and caring environment and using modern pedagogical techniques and new technologies.&nbsp;The English School invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following posts:&nbsp;EXTERNAL SPORTS COACHES (afternoon games)Applicants must meet the following requirements:·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A degree in a Sports science subject (with relevant modules / coaching and individual sports experience provided)·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Coaching qualification in an individual sport / sports as per the National Agency for each sport·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Recognized coaching qualification from the UK / EU·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Experience in coaching at school, regional, national, international levelJob Description&nbsp;Duties:·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Attend relevant planning meetings for Afternoon Games as required by Head of PE·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Assist with registration process, helping Heads of House·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Monitor attendance at coaching sessions, follow up on individual students if necessary·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Engage the students in sports activities following safe practices, coach appropriate skills and organise and referee matches·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Check out sports equipment from the PE storeroom, ensure its safe and appropriate use by the students and its return to the equipment store·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Be responsible for the organization of teams’ participation in fixtures and tournaments both inside and outside of school·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Report on matches and tournament results through the school website and social media, publicizing successes both of teams and individuals·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Be responsible for the health and safety of students under their supervision·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Report any accidents following school policy·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Review and evaluate at the end of the year, including proposing students for awards, writing testimonials if required and a short report to the HoD·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Perform any other reasonable duties that the Head of PE may require&nbsp;Full details of the posts and an application Form can be downloaded from the School’s website: <a href="https://www.englishschool.ac.cy">www.englishschool.ac.cy</a>Completed applications and a letter of application ONLY to be submitted electronically via the employment online form, which can be found on the School’s websiteFor any queries, please contact the Human Resources Manager on 22 799 515Closing date for completed applications to reach the School by 12.00 noon, Wednesday, 17th September 2025Note: The English School, Nicosia is committed to the safeguarding and protection of children and young people.
